Written and performed by a 17-year-old girl, the film is the diary of a high school student at the Claude Monet lycée in Paris. “Virgin, demoiselle, young girl, teenager: all these words of yesterday and today describe the kind of monster I am, half-kid, half-woman. I answer to the strange name of Bethsabée Pasolini, and my nickname is Bébé. I was born on Friday 13th, but haven’t lived long enough to know whether it has brought me good luck or not. I know that, if I want to take to my wings alone I’ll end up burning them. Through lack of caution, they’re already singed, but new feathers are growing. I’m slowly shedding my first skin, it’s called: “the lobster complex.” So, here I am, Bébé the little lobster, tottering along through life, while this eternal, damn bus takes me day after day straight into the world.
