No doubt about it. This is a crazy movie. Not only because it's written and produced by crazy people, but also because it's all about a day in the life of a gang of crazy people. Friendly and happy crazy people... but crazy all the same ! You could almost say "normal" crazy people. "Une journée chez ma mère" isn't the fruit of some writer's imagination, but rather the result of the considered observation of the family unit. Certain lives have a stultifuing banality and wouldn't be worth three lines in a provincial newspaper. Others, however, are fascinating. The life of this family is even surprising. You can't do anything about it. That's the way it is... It's the law !...
