Synopsis Chad, 2006. The government has granted an amnesty to all war criminals. Sixteen-year-old Atim is given a revolver by his grandfather and sent out to find the man who killed his father. Atim leaves his village and sets out for N’djamena to look for a man who he doesn’t even know. He quickly locates him: a former war criminal, Nassara is now settled, married, and runs a small bakery. With the firm intention of killing the older man, Atim makes Nassara believe that he’s looking for work and is taken on as an apprentice baker. Intrigued by Atim’s belligerence toward him, Nassara takes the boy under his wing and teaches him the art of making bread. As the weeks go by, a curious relationship develops between them. In spite of his repugnance, Atim seems to find in Nassara the paternal figure he’s always lacked; as for Nassara, he finds in this teenager a potential son. One day, Nassara proposes to adopt Atim.
