Synopsis
A tiny voice echoes from a pregnant woman’s belly: “Mom, I want to be born!” “A baby who speaks from inside his mother gets born by himself, “his mother responds. A tiny little fella thus arrives on earth. He cuts the umbilical cord and says, “I’m called Kirikou.”
Diminutive Kirikou is born in an African village where a witch, Karaba, has cast a terrible spell: water has dried up, villagers are fleeced, and men are kidnapped, mysteriously disappearing. “She eats them,” the frightened villagers say…
Karaba is a cruel, magnificent woman, surrounded by submissive, but formidable mascots. As soon as Kirikou has both feet on the ground, he wants to free the village from her evil spell and uncover the reason for her nastiness.
His fantastic adventures take him to the Forbidden Mountain. Here the Wise Man is waiting, he who knows Karaba the Witch’s secrets…
