Biography

Marseilles-born Michel Spinosa is the writer/director of three short films: "Un cadeau de Noël" (1986) co-directed with Gilles Bourdos, "La Rue Ouverte (1988) and "La Jeune fille et la mort" (1991). In 1994, he made his first feature film, "Take Me Away," featuring Karin Viard, Antoine Basler and Bruno Putzulu. His second feature, "La Parenthèse enchantée," was released in 2000. The film follows the lives of five characters and is set in the "enchanted" era of the seventies. Many of France's new breed of actors feature in the film: Clotilde Courau, Vincent Elbaz, Géraldine Pailhas, Karin Viard and Roschdy Zem. In addition to this, in 1998, Spinosa participated in the writing of Gilles Bourdos's first feature film, "Disparus."
