The awards season has barely begun, but French films have already scooped up several awards.
For the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Carlos was the Best Foreign Film of the year.
Its director Olivier Assayas was also named Best Director, all nationalities combined, ex aequo with David Fincher (The Social Network).
For his powerful performance in A Prophet, Niels Arestrup received Best Supporting Actor.
Lastly Alexandre Desplat was awarded for his score for The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski.
