Spain: “To Be and to Have” off to a fine start

After hitting the mark in the U.S.A., Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada, among other countries, the charms of little Jojo and his friends are now winning over Spanish audiences.

Nicolas Philibert traveled to Madrid in December to promote his film. Since it was released January 2 by Karma Films (Yedra Films) on 20 prints, “To Be and to Have” has already registered 36,500 admissions, representing 191,811 euros in box office receipts. After upping the number of prints in circulation to 22 on the film’s opening weekend, its distributor has already decided to offer an additional 5 prints to audiences in Madrid, Barcelona and Pamplona.
Clearly a fine start in Spain for this documentary: to be continued…
