Nominations for the 20th European Film Awards were announced yesterday at the Seville International Film Festival.
Among nominees vying for the Best European Film award are the French productions La Vie en Rose by Olivier Dahan and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.
Marion Cotillard has been nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in La Vie en Rose, while Michel Piccoli is a nominee for Best Actor for his role in Belle Toujours.
Make-up artist Didier Lavergne is in the running for the 2007 European Film Academy "Prix d’Excellence" for his work in La Vie en Rose.
A host of French co-productions feature in the nominees list: The Queen (5 nominations including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress), Irina Palm (2 nominations for its lead actor and actress), Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (4 nominations including Best Actor), and My Brother is an Only Child (1 nomination for Best Actor).
The 1,800 members of the European Film Academy will deliver their verdict on December 1st at the awards ceremony in Berlin.
