“Days of Glory” by Rachid Bouchareb will compete at the upcoming Academy Awards in the Foreign Language Film category. As at the Cannes Film Festival, the film will represent Algeria.
Recently honored at the Golden Globe Awards for his work on "The Painted Veil" by John Curran, the composer Alexandre Desplat is in the running for the award for Best Original Score for "The Queen” by Stephen Frears, a minority French co-production which is nominated in five categories (including Best Film, Best Direction, and Best Actress in a Leading Role).
The verdict will be announced February 25, 2007…
