Philippe Harel and Jean-Pierre Améris are France's two representatives in the Official Competition at Spain's largest film festival, to be held from September 20 through 29.
Along with "Le Vélo de Ghislain Lambert" and "C'est la vie" – the two French films included in the festival's Official Selection – France is also represented by three other titles in the Zabaltegi/New Directors Section. They are: "Le Prix du pardon" by Mansour Sora Wade, "Autrement" by Christophe Otzenberger and "L’Attente des femmes" by Naguel Bellouad.
Six French films are to be presented in the Zabaltegi/ Festivals' Top Section: "Amelie from Montmartre" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, "Je rentre à la maison" by Manoel de Oliveira, "Officers' Ward" by François Dupeyron, "The Piano Teacher" by Michael Haneke, "Intimacy" by Patrice Chéreau and "L’ Emploi du temps" by Laurent Cantet.
