The Sundance Film Festival will be held from January 20 through 30, 2005. This year's festival boasts a new feature: a competitive section for international films, dubbed the World Cinema Competition.
France will be represented in competition in the fiction section by "Lila Says" by Ziad Doueiri and "The Hero" by Zézé Gamboa (a Franco/Portuguese/Angolan production), and in the documentary section by "Odessa, Odessa" by Michale Boganim and "Wall" by Simone Bitton. The eagerly awaited "La marche de l'Empereur" ("The Emperor's Journey") by Luc Jacquet will also be screened at the event. The directors of all these films will make the trip to the festival to meet with audiences.
