Unifrance is proud to announce the world premiere screening of The Musicians, the new film by Grégory Magne, for the opening of the 27th Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris from January 14 to 21, 2025. Produced by Les Films Velvet and Baxter Films, the film is being sold by Pyramide International.
The 27th Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris, the world's largest market and press junket dedicated to French film and audiovisual works, will take place in Paris from January 14 to 21, 2025.
Unifrance is honored to open the event with the world premiere of The Musicians, the new film by Grégory Magne, starring Frédéric Pierrot and Valérie Donzelli, at the Pathé Palace cinema (which has just reopened its doors after 5 years of renovation, under the leadership of architect Renzo Piano) on the evening of January 14, in the presence of the film's cast and crew (tbc). International distributors and buyers accredited to the Rendez-Vous will be invited to the screening, which will be followed by a cocktail reception.
Grégory Magne
Grégory Magne grew up in Burgundy. In 2007, he set off to cross the Atlantic solo from La Rochelle to Salvador de Bahia, on a 6.5-meter sailboat with no means of communication. He took a camera on board to tell the story of his daily life, from which he made his first film, Vingt-quatre heures par jour de mer. Since then, he has sailed between documentaries and fiction, between scriptwriting and directing. In 2012, with Stéphane Viard he wrote and directed his debut feature film, Air de rien, a gritty comedy starring Michel Delpech as a debt-ridden Michel Delpech. The film introduced Grégory Montel in his first leading role. In 2018, Magne reunited with the actor for his second feature film, Perfumes. This time, Montel co-starred with Emmanuelle Devos, Gustave Kervern, and Sergi López.
In The Musicians, real musicians star alongside Valérie Donzelli and Frédéric Pierrot as members of a string quartet whose egos struggle to find harmony.
