The 45th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival took place from January 27 to February 4. It is becoming increasingly obvious each year that this highly awaited event is unique. Here, filmmakers and professionals from all over the world gather to celebrate a cinematographic form that proves to us that the short film is undoubtedly "the childhood of the 7th Art." This particular cinema site that is so rich and promising and which gives birth to and reveals the talents of tomorrow.
This year, a total of 363 films competed in the National, International, and Lab Competitions. The entire program can be found here. Films for all tastes, ages, and desires, in dedicated and thematic programs.

The Short Film Market
The 38th edition of the market, a major networking event, opened its doors on Monday, January 30 in the emblematic Gymnase Jean et Honoré Fleury. More than 30 countries were represented in the exhibitor area, including Taïwan, this year's featured country, and the United Kingdom, which was returning after several years' absence. 3,500 professionals were expected to discover new talent, make new contacts, and participate in numerous presentations and round tables.

Networking
Two networking sessions have been organized (by invitation only) on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., in partnership with Wallonie-Bruxelles Images (WBI), SWISS FILMS, and the Sodec, and the support of members of the Short Film Commission.
International professionals (festivals, programmers, broadcasters, distributors, platforms, etc.) came to discuss and exchange with the directors and producers of French, Belgian, Swiss, and Canadian/Quebec films in the National, International, and Lab Competitions. They include 120 guests from Argentina, Armenia, China, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Quebec, Russia, Senegal, Switzerland, and Taiwan.

Cocktail
To renew with tradition and celebrate the short film format, Unifrance hosted a cocktail party in honor of its members, partners, and festivals, both French and international, with whom the organization collaborates.
It will take place on Tuesday, January 31 from 7 to 9 pm
