Positioning animation as a major axis of its strategy for the international promotion of French creation, Unifrance is partnering for the first time with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it will bring together under the same banner all French animation professionals, whether they come from the television, short film, feature film, or immersive creation sectors.
Bolstered by a unique support system aimed at highlighting the diversity of French creation to professionals and international audiences, Unifrance will meet professionals at the market, host a debate on export issues, promote creators on social networks. and organize several networking events.
The Unifrance stand
The new Unifrance stand at the MIFA, located on the lake platform at site number E07, will have five tables available to our members for their appointments throughout the market's duration.
As the available space is not subject to prior reservation, we ask you to be attentive to the needs of other Unifrance members, so that as many companies as possible can benefit.
France In Shorts partnership
This year, Unifrance is once again a partner of the France in Shorts initiative, alongside the AFCA, SPI, L'Agence du court métrage, and AnimFrance, with a stand located on the lake platform that will welcome French animated short film professionals. For the first time, this stand will have a space that can accommodate about twenty people to attend presentations, forums, and partner screenings, where a presentation of Unifrance's programs for interested professionals will be organized.
A conference on export issues
Unifrance is also organizing a conference within the MIFA: "Distributing and promoting French animation internationally in 2022: challenges in the digital and post-pandemic era."
It will take place on Wednesday, June 15 at 2:00 pm in the Impérial's Salle Verdi.
French animation sales professionals (feature films, shorts, series, and TV specials) will discuss their sales and promotion strategies for their line-ups, their relationships with the various types of platforms (SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, Fast, etc.), and the complementarity of these distribution models with traditional models (theatrical release, linear television, festivals...).
This conference will bring together Morgann Favennec (Xilam Animation), Luce Grosjean (Miyu Distribution), and Yohann Comte (Charades), and will be introduced by a presentation of the main figures of French animation exports.
Virtual reality lunch
A networking lunch dedicated to XR professionals is planned. Participation in this event will be by invitation only.
"Voices of French Animation" capsules
The Unifrance team will produce several video interviews with the teams of the French films in Competition, which will available on our social networks for a week during the festival. They will contribute to providing information about the personalities involved in French animation today.
Partenership with Annecy Music Lab
Unifrance's participation is completed by a new partnership with the Annecy Music Lab, organized by 22D Music in collaboration with the festival. This initiative aims to create a meeting space dedicated to composition and production students in order to inspire future collaborations. The Annecy Music Lab is structured around three activities that will take place on Friday, June 17, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Impérial's Salles Verdi and Ravel: a workshop with directors Julien Chheng and Jean-Christophe Roger, and composer Vincent Courtois, who will discuss their collaboration on Ernest and Célestine : A Journey in Charabia; followed by a networking session, then a panel on The Summit of the Gods, in the presence of director Patrick Imbert a Amine Bouhafa, which will close this fine program.
