The producer Jean-Christophe Reymond (Kazak Productions) represented France at the 2021 edition of Producers on the Move, an initiative organized by EFP - European Film Promotion.
Producers on the Move is a program organized by EFP that aims to promote up-and-coming producers from throughout Europe and to foster international coproductions. The 2021 edition of the event will be held online from May 17-21.
Following the French producer Andrea Queralt in 2020, Jean-Christophe Reymond, head of Kazak Productions, has been selected this year. Since 2006, Kazak Productions has produced around fifty short films, supporting a large number of "in-house" auteur filmmakers in their move from short films to features, including Virgil Vernier (Sophia Antipolis, Mercuriales), Clément Cogitore (The Wakhan Front), Vincent Mariette (Savage, Fool Circle), and Teddy Lussi-Modeste (Jimmy Rivière, The Price of Success).
After the release of Arab Blues by Manele Labidi in 2019 (260,000 admissions to date outside France), Kazak Productions is currently preparing for the release of Titane, the new feature film by Julia Ducournau, whose short film Junior they also produced.
This year's Producers on the Move program will see twenty European producers presented their latest projects in speed meetings and roundtable sessions. More than half of the selection are women.
