UniFrance continues its partnership with the ShorTO Film Market, whose fourth edition was held from November 21 to 23, 2019.
In three years, the Torino Short Film Market (TSFM) has earned itself a prominent place among international events dedicated to short films in all formats.
Spanning three days, this event held in the Piedmont capital brings together professionals in the film and television industries from all around the world, as well as up-and-coming creative talents, and places a major focus on new technologies and new narrative forms.
It is in this context that UniFrance presented screenings of the six films that have won UniFrance Short Film Awards in 2019 on November 21 and 23:
- Ahmed’s Song by Foued Mansour
- Due West by Alice Douard
- Per Aspera Ad Astra by Franck Dion
- One After the Other by Nicolas Pegon
- Tomorrow Will Be Brighter by Jean-Baptiste Del Amo
- My Branch So Thin by Dinara Droukarova
New features at this year's Torino Short Film Market:
The TSFM has opened up to comedy this year, with the organization of pitch sessions for coproductions, which seek to provide producers and directors with essential tools that will help them improve their comedy projects.
In the field of new narrative forms, virtual reality has been given pride of place, with the film market holding VR pitch sessions and a call for coproduction projects involving narrative content titled VR Stories, which explore how we tell story and it what forms.
In parallel, two French works were presented in the VR Showcase program:
- A Bar at the Folies-Bergère VR by Gabrielle Lissot (produced by IKO)
- Les Murs parlent by Judith Depaule (produced by Mabel Octobre)
