As part of an evening tribute to the work of Michel Legrand held at the Metrograph, the visual artist Prune Nourry recounted a conversation she had with Agnès Varda about the time during which Cleo from 5 to 7 was made:
"We were young, we were always happy, everyone was 30 in 62, I was 32 like you are today, life wasn’t complicated in this hotbed of creativity. We spent our holidays together, at The Moulin, at the snow, always working, in 5 years we did Lola, Cléo, Bay of Angels, Les Parapluies, and Les Demoiselles ..."
