The second year of the recently created El Gouna Film Festival will be held in the Egyptian seaside town on the Red Sea from September 20 to 28, with nine French films included in the program.
The fledgling El Gouna Film Festival, one of whose founders is the Egyptian actress Bushra Rozza (Les femmes du bus 278), aims to connect filmmakers from the Middle East with their international counterparts in the spirit of cultural cooperation and exchange through the presentation of the finest recent cinematic productions. The festival is committed to the discovery of new voices and strives to be a catalyst for the development of cinema in the Arab world, particularly through its industry segment, the CineGouna Platform.
Around fifteen awards will be presented at the closing ceremony, honoring dramas, documentaries, and feature films.
Nine French productions will be showcased at this second edition of the event, which opens its doors on September 20:
