This is the number of meetings held over the two days of the French Film Market, held Thursday and Friday of last week in a stunning building located inside Hibiya Park, in the heart of Tokyo. Twenty-four French sales agents were on the spot to meet with Japanese distributors and exhibitors. It is worth noting that in 2016, 48 French productions (including films co-produced by France) were released in Japan, generating a total of 1.1 million admissions. The most popular film was Seasons by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, which attracted 420,000 spectators—an exceptional achievement for a French film in Japan.
