For the 19th year running, UniFrance is set to host the 2017 Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris from January 12 through 16—the world's leading French film market and the biggest press junket dedicated to French cinema. This event will be attended by 480 film buyers, 42 French sales agents and 100 journalists from around 50 countries, who will have the chance to discover 115 films and meet with 130 French actors and directors.
This five-day event held in Paris will bring together international distributors and sales companies representing French films, as well as journalists from around the world and actors and directors from French films whose international release is eagerly-anticipated in 2017.
The event's opening ceremony held on the evening of January 13 at the Automobile Club de France will provide an opportunity for UniFrance to present a report on the performance of French films in international theaters in 2016. It will also be the occasion to launch the 7th edition of MyFrenchFilmFestival, the UniFrance-organized Online French Film Festival, in the presence of the jury and the selected films' crews. The selection will be disclosed at this occasion.
The film market will open with a presentation of Dalida, directed by Lisa Azuelos, at a special screening held in the presence of director Lisa Azuelos, actress Sveva Alviti, producer Julien Madon and Orlando, Dalida's brother, as well as UniFrance president Jean-Paul Salomé and our executive director Isabelle Giordano.
