During the recent Cannes Film Festival, Unifrance hosted our traditional Networking Breakfast in collaboration with the Sodec, Swiss Film, and WB Images.
An event dedicated to short films that benefits from support from TitraFilm, the Networking Breakfast held on May 19 brought together around sixty international movie industry professionals at the UniFrance Pavilion: directors, distributors (including Ouat Media, Salaud Morisset, Travelling Distribution), broadcasters (Arte, Canal+, TV5), and festival directors (including Toronto, FIFF in Namur, Bienne).
After focusing on Portugal, the latest convivial get-together placed the spotlight on Italy. A high-profile transalpine delegation led by Jacopo Chessa, director of the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio, honored us with its presence. Presentations by Enrico Vannucci (from the Venice Film Festival), Giovanni Pompili (producer with Il Silenzio), and Francesco Martinotti (from the Festival France-Odéon Film Festival in Florence) were highly appreciated, and served to remind us of the necessity of increased collaboration in the areas of film production, distribution, and broadcast.
The new Short Film Networking Breakfast will be held on June 16, 2016, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
