Six new French films will be presented in six cities around the United Kingdom: that sums up the program for the Summer of French Films in the UK.
Unifrance, in association with the Picturehouse cinema chain, will present a program of six French films to audiences in the UK: The Price of Fame by Xavier Beauvois, Do Not Disturb by Patrice Leconte, The Last Hammer Blow by Alix Delaporte, The Statesman by Pierre Courrège, Wild Life by Cédric Kahn, and Astragalus by Brigitte Sy.
Scheduled on three consecutive Mondays, the Summer of French Films program will give these films an opportunity to reach audiences in six provincial cities around the UK: Cambridge, Liverpool, Brighton, Oxford, Bradford, and York. As the films selected are yet to secure a distribution deal in the UK, this event will give them another chance to find a distributor across the Channel. A number of directors and actors will travel to the UK to present their films (Alix Delaporte for The Last Hammer Blow, Patrick Braoudé and Pierre Courrège for The Statesman, and the producer Paulo Branco for Astragalus) at certain screenings (see the attached event program for details).
