Filmmaker Jean-Paul Salomé has been elected for a second two-year term as president of France's agency dedicated to promoting French films around the world.
Jean-Paul Salomé was re-elected to the presidency of UniFrance Films for a two-year term by an absolute majority of the members of the Board of Directors present, receiving 39 votes.
Born in 1960, Jean-Paul Salomé was the first film director in UniFrance's history to be elected in 2013 to the helm of France's international film promotion agency, which had previously only ever had members of its Producers' Council as president.
UniFrance Films' Board of Directors is composed of 51 members: 24 members from the four Commissions elected by the agency's various Councils (the Feature Film and Short Film Producers' Councils, the Artists' Council, and the Exporters' Council), 10 ex officio members, 12 statuary members, 3 prominent industry figures appointed by the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs, and 2 industry figures sitting in an advisory capacity: the general director and financial controller of the CNC.
