UniFrance Films congratulates all of the French actors, directors, and talented contributors to the films that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has honored with nominations today in Beverly Hills.
These films and artists represent the diversity and high quality of French movie production industry, an industry with a global outlook that is committed to breaking down barriers and always offering artistic depth. The eight Oscar nominations are as follows:
- Marion Cotillard in the Best Actress category for her performance in Two Days, One Night by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne
- Timbuktu by Abderrahmane Sissako in the Best Foreign-Language Film category
- Alexandre Desplat in the Music-Best Original Score category for the American films The Imitation Game and The Grand Budapest Hotel
- The Salt of the Earth by Wim Wenders in the Best Documentary category
- Song of the Sea by Tomm Moore (minority co-production) in the Best Animated Film category
- Butter Lamp by Hu Wei and Julien Féret in the Best Short Film category
- Aya by Oded Binnun and Mihal Brezis (Franco-Israeli co-production) in the Best Short Film category
