This year's event was another big success, with a host of French directors joining the festivities.
The 4th Francophone Film Days took place in Budapest from February 28 through March 9, 2014 at the city's Urania Theater. Directors Alexandre Castagnetti and Guillaume Nicloux were in attendance to present their films: Stand by Love, which is to be released in Hungary by Mozinet on March 13, and The Nun, which will hit the screens the same day, distributed by MTVA - Magyar Televizio. All of the films showcased at the event in Budapest were subsequently screened in five cities around Hungary. Two other filmmakers, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, director of Grigris, and Guillaume Brac, director of Tonnerre, also accompanied their films.
After a particularly successful year for French films in Hungary in 2012, 2013 bore witness to audiences' continuing interest in French fare, with 380,000 admissions registered and 46 new films released (including approved co-productions), proving that the absence of blockbusters did not prevent spectators from appreciating the diversity of current French film production.
