Synopsis
This is the story of a little-known resistance group—one of those that inflicted the heaviest losses on the Germans—which never laid down its arms, despite the roundups and military operations launched by the Wehrmacht to wipe out the resistance and any civilians who might have supported them.
The struggle of the Ain resistance fighters would even have global significance, thanks to a symbolic event: the November 11, 1943, parade in Oyonnax. In the midst of the occupation, resistance fighters marched right under the Germans’ noses. Historians now agree that this parade changed the course of the war. The resistance fighters of the Ain and Haut-Jura regions fought relentlessly until the liberation of France, despite the Nazis’ atrocious atrocities and barbarism.
