Synopsis
Raqqa became infamous for being proclaimed the capital of the Daech caliphate in 2014. This city in central Syria served as a laboratory for the constitution of an Islamic state and as a rear base for the organization of attacks carried out in the four corners of the world. The city was almost entirely razed to the ground by international coalition aircraft to eliminate the Daech fighters. The inhabitants, for their part, were left to fend for themselves on the ruins of the caliphate. Today, while peace remains fragile, the tragic fate of the city is recounted by those who experienced first-hand the barbarity of the terrorist organization, and then the violence of the war against Daech.
