Synopsis
Inspired by a case of a pedophile priest in the diocese of Lyon “By the Grace of God” tells the story of former victims’ fight to reveal a scandal suppressed by the Church. This documentary shows how director François Ozon constructed his film using a blend of documentary and fiction, and how he filmed it in secrecy. Two founders of the association that led this fight, as well as Jean-Marc Sauvé, author of a damning report on sexual abuse within the Church, highlight the impact of this “citizen” film on the evolution of the law and the Church.
