Synopsis
1916. A small village behind the front lines, overcome by the heat, is roused by some good news : French forces have recaptured the Douaumont fort. Yvette, a country woman, goes to visit her friend Jeanne the same day. On the way, she meets the postman who, strangely embarrassed, hands her letter for Jeanne that he doesn't dare deliver himself…
