The Hours Fall

The Hours Fall

A Short film by Blanca Camell Gali

Produced by Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains

Production year : 2018

Synopsis

A young woman wanders around a city. Her path leads her from bar to bar, from urban wasteland to street, but she can't find someone to love. Although her desire finds no subject, the city enables her to forget her loneliness. People stop, dance, disturb or participate in the film shoot. Although cinema stops everyday life, the latter catches up with us, like the young woman, lost in these post-industrial streets, in front of the inhabitants of this Montreuil, a suburb on the outskirts of Paris, with its working class and Arab population. In the background, chaabi music in which the oud almost no longer resonates. Somewhere, a poet improvises in the street.
