Synopsis
Beijing is transformed in order to host the Olympic Games in 2008. The Chinese authorities bulldoze whole neighborhoods of the old city to make way for supermarkets and international hotels. Witnesses to a rich and tortured history, the little alleys (hutongs) of the old city have become the prey of property developers. The last inhabitants recount the methods employed by the government to get them to leave.
