Synopsis
During the reign of Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, Amaury de Joux chose as his wife a young girl named Berthe. Unfortunately, the beauty had little time to gratify her husband, who soon departed for the Crusades with the Emperor. Four years later, a wounded knight appears and asks for sanctuary. She asks for news of Amaury, only to learn that Sir de Joux died in the Holy Land. Days, weeks and months go by…and the knight stops speaking of Amaury and Berthe stops weeping. They realize that they are young and attractive: They begin to think about marriage. But, one day, Amaury is announced at the castle gates…
