Synopsis
An armed guerilla group smashes up a political meeting attended mostly by foreigners. One of them, Kérim, escapes by jumping into a passing car. At first, the situation is uncomfortable for both him and the car’s driver, Bruno, but they gradually get talking as the day draws on and Kérim gets a taste of a more pleasant kind of life. Now and then, a look, a word or a silence plunges Kérim back into his past, sometimes back to his homeland, Kurdistan. The exploitation that he and his workmates undergo in their “host” country goads them into reacting. Kérim is in love with a woman. He suffers the agonies of uncertainty, but also discovers that the happiness of love can be more than just an idea.
