Sixty-year-old Clara, a former music critic, was born in the bourgeois society of Recife, in Brazil. She lives in a singular building, the Aquarius, built in the 1940s, on the very stored Avenida Boa Viagem running alongside the ocean. A big property developer has bought all the apartments but Clara refuses to sell hers. A cold war starts between Clara and the real estate company putting pressure on her. Very disturbed by this tension, she takes a new look at her life, her past, the people she loves.
