O Ka is the family home of an artist in Bamako—the house that keeps him tied to his ancestors, to his life story, his memories, and the place from which his sisters were forcibly removed one day back in 2008, in defiance of the law. He has also seen his country, Mali, sink into war in spite of the traditions of tolerance it had embodied since Independence. The fight for truth pushes the artist to speak out and take a stand.
