Between May 1943 and March 1944, when French territory was still occupied by German forces, sixteen men belonging to every kind of political party, union and resistence movement would forever change France's landscape. They would design the Conseil National de la Résistance program magnificently titled "Les jours heureux" (Glorious Days).
This program is still at the core of the French social system, because it resulted in social security, retirement plans, business committees, freedom of the press, etc.
This film aims to retrace the development of these laws so as to restrieve the origins that have now become forgotten. It wishes to recount how a crazy utopia in this dark period became a reality after the Liberation and how it has since been dismantled. It questions the social reality of today and looks at how this program's universal values could benefit tomorrow's world.
