When perfection leads to destruction. When forgiveness leads to redemption. When love leads to death. Paolo, aged thirty, is an anti-hero. Having been laid off, he falls intoa infernal spiral of drugs and of alcohol, so destroying his life and that of his family. For the good of their daughter, his wife, Francesca, decides to leave and leaves only Paolo alone with his remorse, his guilt and in his self-destruction.
The movie redraws the emotional journey of Paolo, who will go from Hell to Paradise thanks to the Purgatory, by resuming the plan established by Dante's Divine Comedy while inseminating the romanticism of the poetry by Keats.
While understanding his errors and by recognizing his faults, Paolo obtains the redemption which allows him to die in peace. Finally in his own paradise, he will find his wife and his daughter who) wait for him by the sea.
