Seventy-eight-year-old René has just been released after a long stint in prison. He enters a hospice where he encounters ninety-year-old Maurice, a man who has lived a very ordered life. A friendship develops between them. René, deprived of freedom for such a long time, doesn't intend to remain inactive until the end of his days. Maurice will soon say that ninety years of a quiet life didn't make for much excitement. Why not live a little, right until the end?
