Sister Welsh's Nights

Sister Welsh's Nights

A Feature film by Jean-Claude Janer

Produced by Arturo Mio

Release in France : 27/10/2010

    Synopsis

Emma is 16. Her mother is mean. So Emma changes her into a romantic, lovelorn heroine
from a 19th-century novel. Emma falls in love with a boy her age. So she dreams him as a charming prince who takes her all the way to Tangiers on his scooter and proposes at sunset on the beach. The boy her age has a girlfriend. So Emma imagines a scary bogeyman living in the empty lot raping her rival. Emma lives in her thoughts, riddled with fantasies.

She has to grow up, and fast. SisterWelsh's Nights is this coming-of-age quest, this transition when dream and reality must untangle and take sides. So Emma can finally live.
