The High Life

The High Life

A Feature film by Emmanuel Salinger

Produced by Les Films du Poisson

Release in France : 04/11/2009

    Synopsis

A philosophy teacher in Saint-Etienne, Grégoire struggles to teach the foundations of wisdom to his somnolent pupils. A discreet activist, he finds himself catapulted to Paris for a television show, where short work is made of his inexperience. Nevertheless, he's the one who goes to the star host's rescue once they leave the set. Patrick, at the height of his glory, is not happy. To add happiness and love to money and success, he's got to change, he's got to learn. He wants Grégoire to be his mentor - no matter the price! Initially reticent, Grégoire eventually gives in: he'll be Socrates for the little screen's Alcibiades.

But who'll be the winner of the game "Know Thyself"?

And which of these two men, who have nothing in common, will be the pupil and which the master?
