Synopsis
“Oliva Oliva” takes us into the heart of a beekeeping family in the Estramadure region on the Spanish side of the border.
Peter Hoffman shot this film over two years, alone, without a crew, not even a soundman. Armed with a Super 8 camera, he got together with the Oliva family intending to film the traditional honey gathering before they were evicted from their property, La Finca.
Day after day, this burlesque adventure becomes a road movie through Spain’s most isolated region, following in the steps of Bunuel and his mythical “Land Without Bread”.
