Synopsis
The myths of Samson and Massada teach generations of young Israelis that death is preferable to living in submission.
Today, with the second Intifada in full swing, Palestinians are subjected to the humiliation meted out by the Israeli army on a daily basis. Farmers can’t freely plow their fields, children are stuck at checkpoints for hours when returning home from school, an elderly woman can’t visit her daughter…
Pushed to the limit, this population, like the Jews confronting the Romans, or Samson confronting the Philistines in the past, screams out its anger and despair. Avi Mograbi, an Israeli filmmaker, believes in the power of dialog, with the Palestinians under siege and the overpowering Israeli army.
