Sixty-five year old Regina lives alone with her faithful companion, Betina. Despite her extroverted nature, her ironic, uncensored tongue keeps most people at a safe distance.
To fill the human void in her life and feel useful, Regina serves on the neighborhood watch for the local police. Unfulfilled with her clear mandate to keep an eye out for illegally parked cars, jaywalkers, and pickpockets, Regina, aka, "Snow White", begins to seek out suspicious characters outside of banks, underage prostitution rings in local clubs, and other more interesting "perps".
One night, while "checking up" on her neighbors with her trusty binoculars from her window in the concrete jungle otherwise known as Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Regina’s eyes see a man apparently murdering his wife. Quickly, she calls the police, and while falling asleep in her chair, justice is apparently served on the other side of the street.
The next day, the local police chief informs Regina that the accused murderer, a well respected judge named Camargo, was giving medicine to his terminally ill wife, and that her death was deemed natural. With her credibility seriously damaged, and the local police in the midst of yet another in a string of embarrassing incidents, Regina is officially suspended from her duties. Armed with a mix of anger, as she believes what she saw, and depression, for having been suspended from her only real pleasure in life, Regina sets out to prove that she was right all along, and begins to search for proof against the alleged assassin.
Soon after she begins her investigation, Camargo surprises her on the street. Afraid that he is on to her, Regina soon discovers that he is merely trying to get to know her…romantically! Aware of the danger involved, she lets him get close to her in order to get her hands on the evidence that she desperately needs to vindicate her.
As the chance encounters quickly turn into conversations and dates, it doesn’t take long for Regina to suffer from the cruel ambiguity of feeling attraction to a man that she denounced as, and just might be, a murderer.
At a time in life when most people are satisfied merely letting the time go by, reaping the fruits of a lifetime, this seemingly chance and potentially dangerous chain of events force Regina and Camargo to take stock of their lives in a way that they could have never imagined.
