Synopsis
In a post-apocalyptical 21st century, the Gui Dao sect reigns over Asia…
Zhuai and his young brother Mian are arrested and then deported to Camp Prosperity for re-education that aims to rid them of their dissident attitudes. They discover just how much the camp takes simple propoganda, bureaucratic squabbles and petty trafficking even further.
When the sect falls from power, Zhuai and Mian rediscover total but chaotic freedom for the first time in years. Zhuai falls in love with the beautiful Xuelan and sets up house with her and her child in an empty industrial city. They rediscover the strange and forgotten pleasures of daily life. But they must also confront the bittersweet feelings that this freedom to dream gives rise to.
