The Revenger's Comedies
Synopsis
The enigmatic and aristocratic Karen Knightly has recently broken up with her lover, whereas Henry Bell, a conventional middle-management type, has just lost his job. Their diametrically opposed worlds intersect one rainy night on Tower Bridge, because both of them have deciced to put an end to things in the muddy waters of the Thames. Yet on finfing Karen hanging from the bridge, Henry effects a clumsy but successful rescue. Once out of danger, they recount their misfortunes to each other. Driven by bittenness, their shared desire to do away with themselves is transformed into a desire for revenge at which point Karen decides to organize a dangerous game.

About
As soon as I read the script of "The Revengers's comedies", I feel in love with it. The script had everything you dream of: a burlesque tale,sophistication, and intelligence. So I didn't hesitate to come aboard. The casting was very difficult, because the actors we wanted weren't free at the same time, and we couldn't manage to get them together. So when Sam Neill, Helena Bonham Carter and Kristen Scott Thomas finally agreed, we were truly proud of having such great actors not only for the leads but for the smaller part as weell. Even today, I still have wonderful memories of the film.
