Synopsis
Beni is a teenager who falls in love with Fogi, the lead singer of a rock group. Fogi's rebellious attitude stirs up Beni's own desire for freedom and his determination to "live his own life" away from the world he grew up in. This is Beni's first great love, and he is so fervent that he becomes Fogi's slave, no longer aware of the kind of man Fogi really is. As the singer declines physically and morally, Beni finds it harder and harder to retain his admiration for Fogi. Yet in spite of everything, he tries to hang onto to his love, and soon finds himself confronting the most awful decision of his life.

About
"I met Martin Frank for the first time in 1989. He showed me where he grew up, the places that became the setting for the film. It was a trusting relationship right from the start because he liked my first film, 'Tagediebe.' And after seeing 'L'Heure bleue,' he was convinced that I was the right person to film his novel. We met several times after that, and he reacted extremely well by giving me his vote of confidence and simply withdrawing. He knew that if he continued to collaborate he'd have been tempted to use his influence to push the film in another direction. I think he really liked the finished film."
(Marcel Gisler, Director)
