Synopsis
M. keeps a diary. The following facts fill up twenty-five pages : M. sings with her group, called Lady M., at Kismet, a Paris cabaret. One stormy night, Diego, a Catalan painter, takes refuge in the bar. He waits for M. at the door, and they spend the rest of the night strolling the streets of Paris. Once her cabaret contract is over, M. leaves for Barcelona, where Diego takes her on a tour of Catalonia. A torrid love affair blossoms as they move from hotel to hotel. Then, one day, a photo of his wife and daughter falls out of Diego's wallet. M. is terribly wounded, and returns to Paris. But there she confronts a dilemma - she knows that she can't live with Diego, and yet she can't live without him. So she does a crazy thing. She invites him to come to her place, even it it means bringing the family along. To her surprise, that is exactly what he does...
