Synopsis
Every summer, Turkish immigrants working in Europe return home. The cars that bring them back, over distances that can run into thousands of miles, are the symbol of their success in northern Europe. The Turkish border. A gold-coloured Mercedes 350 SE.Unlike all the other vehicles around it, this one is not weighed down... and it gleams. At the wheel of the Mercedes is Bayram, a street-sweeper in Munich, whose life's dream has come true : he's returning home with the symbol of his success that he has paid for with his savings. On the road back to his village, in the heart of the Turkish province of Anatolia, he takes great care of his Mercedes, "his love", the most precious thing in his life... But when you try to do things too well...

About
"These days, social success is first and foremost material.
We want others to see the outer signs of this success. Contentment and comfort are today's status symbols.
"Display" and "recognition" have became standards of happines."
