Event presentation
Founded in 1982, the Istanbul Film Festival is the oldest, largest, and most wide-ranging film festival in Turkey, boasting record audience figures every year of 170,000 spectators. The festival will present over 200 films including 30 french movies in more than 20 thematic sections that include feature films, documentaries, animated films, and other genres. The festival has three competitions: the Golden Tulip International Competition, a National Competition, and the Human Rights in Cinema Competition offering the Film Award of the Council of Europe (FACE). The festival include debates, classes given by distinguished filmmakers, an exhibition, concerts, and party events reflecting the theme of this year's program, as well as "Meetings on the Bridge," a 2-day event that brings together representatives from European cultural organizations and Turkish producers to discuss film financing possibilities.
