French films featured strongly in the awards at the 24th Istanbul International Film Festival (April 2 through 17).
French films were well represented in the various festival sections, with around 30 films presented overall. "Gilles' Wife" by Frédéric Fonteyne picked up the Golden Tulip, jointly awarded to "Café Lumière" by Hsiao-hsien Hou; and "Innocence" by Lucile Hadzihalilovic won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Audience Prize, with the director present to accept the awards.
